They Always Say Content is King in SEO


There is a reason for the saying "content is king"... historically speaking unique content is the reason people use the internet to expand their knowledge in what they seek and that is found in "content". Not only that Google has always placed a high emphasis on quality content to be a great building block to getting good rankings in Google. But now days it becomes harder to surpass your competitors in simply having content so you will also have to find ways to utilize that content.

Now what do I mean by "content"? There are many forms of online content... whether it be an update to the content on your website, a new blog post, article, press release, newsletter, posting valuable information on forums, even a twitter update or similar social community. There is also media content but that is a topic for another day. All of these methods can be considered content and also help build your reputation in your community niche.

You will never go wrong with having new content for your website, blog or using it as a SEO tool. No matter who you are you can never have enough of it and it will never get old. I believe most successful online businesses succeed in the online marketplace either by creating new content continually and also knowing how to utilize that content most efficiently. You will never want to create one piece of content and use it across the board... meaning say you write a new article about your niche it probably wouldn't be a good idea to submit that same article to article directories, post it on your website, send it out via your newsletter, post it on blogs, post it on forums. While some may see this as the best way to promote new content it would be a better idea to create unique content for each of the techniques mentioned above. It's also fine for example to submit one piece of new content to say two outlets, but not all of them.

Another good tip is to never get into the habit of using the same type of outlets for your content. Try to mix it up some even keep a checklist or log of the past content that you have put out there online. Some people enjoy writing new blog posts or sending articles out via article marketing. But using only one outlet will limit your potential. If one week you want to go with article marketing, the next week come up with a press release and following that write an article for your blog or sponsor blog posts for the article (blog posts).
